The OGC Gas Transportation Facilities and Infrastructure are widely spread across the Sultanate of Oman. The Geographical spread of the Pipeline System has presented both opportunities and challenges. The increased use of Natural Gas and reliability of OGC Pipeline system provide opportunity for the significant industrial growth of Oman. The challenges are to manage OGC Pipeline assets over a large area of diverse geographic and climatic conditions in a safe manner, adhering to all QHSE standards as well as prevent injuries keeping company and contractor personnel safe and healthy. Obviously QHSE becomes an issue of paramount importance as a cornerstone of our business activities. OGC has recently completed with its contractors 3 safe working years without any lost time incidents and drove in excess of 23 Million KMs. While combating these challenges, the Company strives hard to safe guard the well-being & health of its employees and contractors, as well as maintain clean environment & keep high quality work standards in delivering uninterrupted gas to its customers. Looking back at the events we were successful in meeting the challenges of managing OGC Pipeline assets in a safe manner and preventing Road traffic accidents. The major risk associated with the Operation and Maintenance of Gas Transportation Facilities is vehicle driving. There is a requirement to undertake a great number of long journeys through ROW, Interior Graded Roads and remote locations. 2006 was an LTI free year. 2007 looks apparently good since till the end of September 2007, no LTIs are reported. There were increase in projects during 2007 and subsequently considerable increase in man-hours and KMs too. OGC and its contractors have completed 1.4 Million man hours without LTI driving 2.6 Million KMs till the end of September 2007.
